My favourite band that's punk related is Ian Dury and the Blockheads, though their wit and sparkle and general intelligence put them quite a long way from 'punk'. Their songs were fun and well produced and yes, they bring back memories in a way that some things just can't. Here's one of those 'soundtrack of life' moments, from 1979.
