The Jackson 5, "La la Means I Love You" (1970)

I saw them perform this cover at their Cow Palace concert in 1970.

When ii was a kid, my friends all were fans of the osmonds. I hated them. Like, really. Bubblegum movies and music don't suit me.
My sister is five years older and was into much different music. Since she was my personal idol, i also listened to a different sound.
But...the Jackson five? I didn't so much enjoy the music on the radio. Although i could still, to this day, sing along word for word.(how does that happen?)
But when i watched and listened? They blew me away.
Seeing them live would have been an opportunity i would not have passed up.
@Carla One of my older cousins took my brother, middle sister and I to go see them.

@bijouxbroussard What a wonderful memory.
I wonder if your cousin knew he was giving you much more than a concert... in 1970.
@Carla She did. She had also planned to take me to see Jimi Hendrix at Winterland closer to the holidays, when he was going to tour here—but he passed away that September. 😞

Unsurprisingly, they did a fantastic job with this.

How fortunate you were to see them perform live. Must have been an exciting and fun experience. 😎
@Rutterman Yes, it really was.

This is the version i remember.
@Tastyfrzz Yes, that’s the original. I was listening to it when I remembered I had seen Michael Jackson cover it when the Jackson 5 performed.
