TAKEN BY STORM
A high night wind was drivin' black clouds
Across a witchin' harvest moon
Lightning flashed and lit up your face
Across the crowded room.
I saw you move but I could not hear a word
When you began to speak
Thunder rolled and my vision blurred
And my knees grew suddenly weak
My one hope of survival
Was to pray that you, like me,
Could be taken by storm.
Taken my storm
You touched my hand
And the rivers ran red with flame
Taken by storm
I thought I heard volcanoes roar
When you softly spoke my name.
There was no place I could run to
No safe place I couls hide
I could no more stop the feeling
Than turn the raging tides.
All around us people were laugin' and dancin'
As though they couldn't see
The end of the world
The fields on fire
Mountains sliding into the sea
You held out your hand
And looked into my eyes
You looked like you had found there
The keys to Paradise.
Taken my storm
You touched my hand
And the rivers ran red with flame
Taken by storm
I thought I heard volcanoes roar
When you softly spoke my name.
There was no place I could run to
No safe place I could hide
I could no stop atop the feeling
Than turn the raging tides
My one hope of survival
Was to pray that you, like me,
Could be taken by storm.
A high night wind was drivin' black clouds
Across a witchin' harvest moon
Lightning flashed and lit up your face
Across the crowded room.
I saw you move but I could not hear a word
