Bob Mould - The Descent

I wish I wish I wish I could go back in time and not turn down my chance to see Husker Du at Gorilla Gardens in 1985.

Very cool. Never saw Husker Du, but I've seen Bob live a bunch of times. "Workbook" is a great album.

yeah me too. My first Bob show was for Dark Sheets of Rain at the UW HUB in Seattle.

I saw him on that tour as well. Did he play "Surrender" by Cheap Trick as an encore? :-)
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
if he did I don't remember. I only remember standing in front of him with the mains on my right. I couldn't hear anything out of my right ear.

Haha, the first time I saw him at a fairly small club in Los Angeles, my friend and I were sitting directly behind the soundboard and I remember the sound guy saying to us something like "I hope you guys like it loud cause it's gonna get really fucking loud". He wasn't kidding. :-)

Yes. Yes it did. The last I saw Bob was for the Silver Age tour. Jon Wurster from Superchunk on drums (one of my faves). F' in rawked.

@NigelDoes: Can you do me a favor? I have recorded some of my own music, but it is the type of music that only hard rock/ pop punk fans would like. Would you mind checking it out and letting me know what you think? I'd really appreciate it.

Wow, that was excellent! Very power pop punky or whatever it's called these days. hehe Is this your band? Good stuff man. That's a song you can't sit still to. 👍
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
Thank you! Very much. Yeah I don't know what to call it either, but there aren't many people I know these days who like that kind of music so I share when I find 'em. I wrote and performed it and am now starting to gather some people to play it live.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Awesome man! So you did all the tracks?
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
Yeah I did. It was a lot of fun. But I don't know what to do with it now. It's fun to share with people I think might actually like it, so thanks for that!
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Thank you for sharing it! It's excellent and a hell of a lot better than 95% of the crap played on the radio these days. I'm curious, how many guitar tracks are on that song? It sounds like a full band in full stride. :-)
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
I think there are at least 3, maybe 4 tracks of guitar.

Wow, that's very cool. I know very little about recording software. What version is that?
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
@NigelDoes: That is Apple Logic. I have found it to be fantastic. It is an instrument in itself.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
I would never know that this wasn't recorded at a renowned recording studio. Technology is amazing. I was happy with my long obsolete Yamaha cassette 4 track. haha
jraymayhem · 51-55, M
LOL. Yeah - music production has changed for sure. Here is just the guitars for that song: https://soundcloud.com/jraymayhem/walk-with-me-guitars/s-iGx2s

That link didn't work for some reason.

@NigelDoes: Hmm. It is a private link. I just put it up there. When I am logged out I see it. Give it a couple a minutes and try again.
