"Ain't Too Proud To Beg"-the story of the Temptations

What a story! I loved the music throughout the play. This was one of my favorite plays.

Just some facts:

Otis Williams is the only surviving member of the original Temptations. Over the years, there have been 28 replacement Temptations and it is still going strong. Otis had a child with an underage woman. almost went to jail for statutory rape. His only son, Lamont, died in a freak construction fall. He was 23 yrs old. They were estranged because Otis was on the road his whole life.

Eddie Kendrick-just walked out on the group because he didn't like the decisions being made. He died of lung cancer.

David Ruffin-had an alcohol and drug addiction. He was found unconscious in a crack house and died shortly thereafter. He was a problem all the way around. He got involved with Tammy Tyrell who died from a brain tumor at 24

Paul Williams had a serious alcohol addiction. Wanted to come back to the band but Otis didn't feel he was ready. He shot himself in the head.

Melvin Franklin or Blue- he was in constant pain from arthritis. The steroids lowered his immune system. That is all the narration said but the internet said he died from congestive heart failure.

One of my favorite songs by this group: I Am Losing You

Classic Motown. Was brought up on it. If nothing else at least my parents had great taste in music 🎶
