One thing that was so great about Prima an his gang was their spontaneity. Totally in the moment, little or no rehearsals or even plans on what they would do next. Supposedly, Prima would just read the audience and the rest would like read his mind. Like dolphins swimming in synchrony.
How they all came together in Las Vegas is a lesson in spontaneity. They got together on a one or two day notice and the band didn't even have a name until on stage and Prima tried to introduce them, and they had to come up with something fast: The Witnesses. Where they then went on together for like 20 years.
