:) I first heard that song 65+ years ago and it's still stuck to the back of my brain. Ever band that played for teen dances from 1955 to 1960 and probably for a few years beyond had to play it..

:) I grew up just a stone throw from the Mississippi river and I fully understand the
"chevy to the levee" line.

@SW-User The levees were traditionally places to have beer parties, go neck with your date, etc. Levees like along the lower Mississippi were like tall mounds and once you went over the top to the river side you were isolated from everything, and no one knew you were there, especially at night and had turned off the headlights while ascending.
