I Love Music

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpAaQ2GqTlE]

There were times
There was pork
There are legs
There are skarks
There was John
There are cliffs
There was mother
There's a poker
There was you
Then there was you

There are scenes
There are blues
There are boots
There are shoes
There are Turks
There are fools
They're in lockers
They're in schools
They're in you
Then there was you

Burn my fingers
Burn my toes
Burn my uncle
Burn his books
Burn his shoes
Cook the leather
Put it on me
Does it fit me
Or you
It looks tight on you

Best gig I ever went to
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
I n would have guessed Henry Fonda was a fan
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: it was a long time ago!
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
Yes it was, lol
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
Not quite as long for me, I didn't discover them until after they broke up
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: I think it was 1982 that i saw them, the skys gone out tour.
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
One of my fav albums of all time
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
I discovered them in my mid 20's. We're about the same age, though
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: my favourites Bauhaus tracks were Kick in the eye and Bela Lugosi's dead, regulars on my party tapes in the 80s
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
She's in Parties, Terror Couple Killed the Col, & Third Uncle
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
I actualy know the head of their label and Peter Murphy's mgr. I'm also a goth musician, but I know them fr my multimedia production days in the 90's
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: trying to remember their label, was it 4AD
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
I believe they released their live reunion tour album on Metropolis
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
Ivo Watts was the head of 4AD, great producer/musician, never met him though. I was ref to Metropolis
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: 4AD then beggars banquet, maybe a different label in other parts of the world
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
@Oneangryman: i believe it was! I also saw them in 1982, freaking amazing. Spooky like seeing Christian Death live. I feel lucky to have caught them live. I saw Tones on Tale too, but never Dalis Car unfortunately.
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
I met Perter Murphy's mgr through them, but got out of the business before I had a chance to meet him, which was fine w me. The whole idea of celebrity n really did anything for me. I respect talent, though
SW-User
@Oneangryman: one of the things I liked about that time was how the independent labels had a distinct identity, and a local basis.
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
Dude, come on now.. it's Peter Murphy! Kind of like meeting Morrissey before he got weird. Lol
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
My point was, it would have been pretty cool. Imho.
SW-User
@rottenrobi: sorry, missed your comment there. I saw them in Rock City in Nottingham, fantastic venue. Fire limit was 1500 and there was an estimated 2500 packed in. Exciting and terrifying St the same time.
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
O, I'm sure he's a great guy. I just don't do big egos. I've walked out on bands during interviews I've conducted bc of their egos. You wanna be a jerk? I guess your to big for publicity, huh? See ya..
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: friend of mine used to write a fanzine and managed to get an interview with Kirk Brandon from Theatre of Hate, who turned out to be a complete tosser
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
The biggest person I met was Valor of Christian Death. He helped us set up the lighting for his own interview. #Respect
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
@rottenrobi: Morrissey would be an exception for me. I'd be disappointed if he were down to earth. He could be a complete ass, but I'd give him a pass
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
@Oneangryman: lol. I saw Christian Death at a tiny place called the farm. They had faces of death movies showing behind them, with huge nuclear looking explosions too. Valor announced that no one was getting out of there alive that night. I have to say, the guitarists tongue was hanging out they say from heroin, the music, the venue... I was a bit terrified! Lol.
Bauhaus was like Joy Division for me, legendary. They'd already been around for awhile and I thought that was so progressive considering the music they were making. Many amazing bands and talents. I still buy albums to this day.

Side note.... Bad Brains is being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame this year. Another wildly influential band for me. It's nice to talk with people who know and appreciate music like this.
