That sounded surprisingly un-Floydish to these ears, compared to albums such as UmmaGumma or The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
I think the band had run its course in 1973, after the release of Dark Side. From then on there was no way but down.

@helenS I thought their follow up to DSOTM, Wish You Were Here was a better record

@JohnnyNoir I've listened to that album only once or twice and found it rather lame. A sleeping pill. 馃憥

@helenS I found it to be a solid record. I still think Meddle could be better than either

@JohnnyNoir I love Wright's loooong minor organ chord on "Echoes", and Nick's excellent drumming over that chord.

@helenS that may be my favorite song by them

@JohnnyNoir Another Rick Wright highlight is the organ chord progression at the 2nd half of the song "Cirrus Minor", from the soundtrack album "More". I love the Farfisa organ which is run through a Binson Echorec, superimposed on the church organ chords.

@helenS I've seen that record but have yet to hear it. One day maybe
