I was born into Zep fandom.

They were awesome. And the chords sounds similar in that track but crikey there's a limited number of notes to play around with.
Though they certainly did blatantly rip off a bunch of old blues tunes in the early days.

I agree that the song is so much more than the opening riff. I do think giving Randy California a credit on the original album would have circumvented this.

i heard the spirit song and just that intro part sounds like stairway to heaven. there are lots of songs that are more similar than those two.
