"He Venido” – Los Zafiros

[media=https://youtu.be/Q6PvImKz-zM]
Beautiful Latin doo-wop ballad recorded by Los Zafiros, a close-harmony vocal group from Cuba. The recording was released in 1964.

Los Zafiros was formed in 1962 in Havana and reportedly disbanded in 1976. The group was said to be “highly successful”, with “high record sales and popular tours at home and abroad.”

Unfortunately, some members of the group had serious personal problems and some later died at a relatively young age. Others, such as guitarist and pianist Manuel Galbán (1931 – 2011), fared better. Galbán continued his career as a recording artist and performed with the renowned Buena Vista Social Club. He also recorded the Grammy Award-winning album, Mambo Sinuendo (2003), with Ry Cooder.
