“Oye Cómo Va” – Santana

[media=https://youtu.be/h9Ksd_zRMac]
“Oye Cómo Va” was written and first recorded by the widely acclaimed musician, bandleader, and songwriter, Tito Puente. It was included on his 1962 album, El Rey Bravo, but wasn’t released as a single.

The best-known version of the song was recorded by Santana, who released their Latin-rock cover as a single in 1971. Their recording was inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Grammy Hall of Fame the following year. Santana’s version has also been included on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list.

I first heard it on one of my favorite albums of all time, Santana’s Abraxas. 😊

@bijouxbroussard It's a first-rate album, for sure, and it's been recognized as such: Abraxas has been included on multiple greatest/best albums lists and it was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry in 2015.
