I Love Johnny Cash

I grew up listening to old country with my dad, and fell in love with Mr. Cashs' voice as a child.

About 3 years ago I was at McDonald's having breakfast, and there was a group of old men talking at the table in front of me. I overheard one of them say, "Back before WWII, Johnny Cash and I were roommates. At those words I couldn't help myself, and went over to their table. "I'm sorry gentlemen, but I heard someone say he'd been roommates with Johnny Cash, which I think is super cool!"

The man who'd said it said: "You know who Johnny Cash is?" I smiled at his amusement
"Yes sir, I grew up listening to him. He was an amazing singer!" Then the ex-roommate took out his wallet and showed a much younger him and Johnny Cash! That was pretty darn neat!!

Same here! I LOVE old music. Music is medicine, it's my passion, and a world with no music would ****.

Once when I was hospitalized, there was only music for one hour a day. One of my roommates and I got together, and walked up and down the halls singing and entertaining the other patients.

I understand that! That's also why I tell others to keep writing so my thirst for reading is sated. What kinds of books do you enjoy? I like dystopian fantasy, westerns, crime, psychological thrillers medical stories, and poetry.

My dad says he couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow!!

They loved it, and it kept us entertained. I am thankful I have a good singing voice. WhenI was little, I wanted to be a singer, time traveler, a nurse a paleontologist, and an astronaut. But nowadays I want to be an author more than anything. : - )
I used to sing in church with a friend. She was amazing and I was, well, awful. lol

I'll read just about anything. I really like most of the things you listed minus the westerns. I also like romance. Its an indulgence. Much like junk food. lol
I love Johnny Cash too. My Granny would always play his records when I went to visit. I'll Fly Away and When the Roll is Called Up Yonder are permenantly etched on my soul.
I can't sing for shit. But that doesnt stop me. lol
Good luck with becoming an author. I admire folks who love to write. I love to read, so folks like you you keep me satiated.
My bff and I consider romance to be like potato chips. Sometimes you need to indulge and eat an entire bag. As long as you are consuming balanced meals in between it will all balance out. lol
Oh, yes!!! Funny thing is that I wandered away from all those for many years. In the last decade or so I've come back and love them more than ever.
