Why does this music sound dated? As if there were a layer of dust on it? A thing of a long gone past? No longer relevant?
It just about 25 or 30 years older than Paul McCartney's "Fool on the Hill", which (to me) stills sounds fresh.

@NankerPhelge
I go back that far in my teens. 😎

@Pfuzylogic I only heard one BOC song in my teens, "Don't Fear The Reaper" (their only hit single) when I was 16. I heard the rest after I turned 20 although I knew the band existed when I was as young as 12. I saw them live in 1985 (at 23) and they rocked the house down.

@NankerPhelge Nice, but it's another song, not a rock version of that old tune.

Saw them in 74, 75, 76 and 97.
I think Black Sabbath was on the 80s tour.

@Pfuzylogic I haven't seen Black Sabbath live although I've liked them since they did "Never Say Die" when I was 16. I've seen Ozzy Osbourne once (in 1986) and he did a couple of old Sabbath favourites ("War Pigs" and "Paranoid").

@helenS I didn't say it was a rock version of that old tune, I said I like this "Stairway To The Stars" meaning as opposed to the "Stairway To The Stars" in the main post.

The most interesting concert for me was in 76 with the Agents of Fortune tour. It was the first time lasers were used in a light show.
They were green and used fog and mirrors with them

@Pfuzylogic I was only 14 then and I still hadn't heard them although I knew they existed and I imagined I'd like them from what other lads in school told me about them. I had just discovered Thin Lizzy that year and I would get heavily into Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple within the next year, so I was well on my way towards Classic Rockland. Lol :)

I spent my teen years on weed, concerts and chess. I am still amazed on the number I went to.

@Pfuzylogic I used to play chess in those days as well. I haven't had a game for quite some time so I might be a bit out of the loop. Lol :)
