how is it that when you listen to 80s songs on the radio now they sound 'remixed'

and not the original from the 80s? many 80s songs played now, when i hear them they sound remixed and not the original song from the 80s.

@BackyardShaman That's my theory too: some broadcasters may be doing subtle dynamic range compression to make the quiet passages louder; it sounds better against the background noise of a traveling car. I don't know for sure if they are doing this; just a possibility.

Another possibility is the speakers or headphones are tuned to have brighter highs and boomier lows.
