My hub's dad owns a gun.

It's a handgun. I saw it once. He keeps it on a desk or something. It's up high so the kids can't reach it. I don't know if he keeps it loaded but my son used to stack books on chairs when he when he wanted to reach something. But my point for this post is I think he just owns that one gun. A person doesn't need a lot unless they can just afford them, have the room for them and are going to use them.🤔

How high and will it be put up higher when the kids are taller and more ingenious?
Some of them already are taller. He must trust them. To be fair they're good kids and they, my in laws, are good to them. These They're actually their grandkids. The oldest one is in college. My fil is almost 80 so I think it's an older habit. And I think it makes him feel safer. They were robbed about 5 years ago. I don't remember seeing a gun there before that. @ninalanyon
The kids are well adjusted. They don't have behavioral problems. @ninalanyon

@Spoiledbrat And friends that they invite in are also well behaved?
I'm glad it works for you and your family but it is pretty much a certainty that it would not work in every family.
They actually live in Sacramento (the ones I'm referring to). I don't know of any friends that they have here. My mil was friendly with the neighbor boy for while though (his fam rented the house next door. I don't think they still do). She's really nice like that. When the house got robbed, they wondered if it was the boys family because he came over a lot and knew where some things were. And some of the stuff that was taken was taken from hidden places. They felt it odd like the robber knew exactly where to go. After that they felt violated in a way. I can't blame them. People are pieces of shits. A lot of people are willing to hurt others to get what they want. @ninalanyon
