How much did Elvis influence music

He touched everyone's life during his lifetime and a at least a little more beyond

He helped make Black people's music acceptable to white teenagers who had money to spend.

He influenced and was influenced by a few genres, well positioned in time, very gifted, and helped popularize rock n' roll.

He was a cultural catalyst. He invented rockabilly and influenced rock and roll. That creative burst was only a couple years unfortunately.

Before my time. He certainly influenced an early Cliff Richard. Probably Adam Faith, Billy Fury, and Marty Wilde. Tommy Steele, of course.
John Lennon saw him as an inspiration. Certainly for his early work.
Minor figure like Robert Plant of Led Zeppalin.

Probably about like Michael Jackson. I never was much into his music. Jackson's either really.

His voice was good of course good looking
But with out everyone on the stage with him and behind the senses He wasn't that much
And of course the acting , not great
Never wrote any songs couldn't read music
Put his name to songs to make money
Was there at the right time

He was a considerable influence in his own genre - which he did not originate - and he still has a huge following; but not really much more than that. Rock-and-Roll was already established when he appeared on the scene.
