Is homosexuality stigmatized in your country?

It is utilized as an insult but I cannot comprehend why.

Not by most people. Back in the UK it's still a little bit more difficult, but here in Norway most people have a live and let live attitude to most things. As long as you aren't causing trouble for other people you mostly get left alone.

It seems that calling something gay is still an insult among schoolchildren in the UK but it apparently has largely lost the direct connection with homosexuality. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7289390.stm
