I am going to attempt being more of an audiobook purist
Modified for the time being where Bluetooth earbuds is still a mystery to me, I hardly set foot outdoors anyway so I can still listen as much as those who listen on long commutes, and out walking, jogging and whatnot.
I shall give the audiobooks my undivided attention, while listening to them.
now for me an undivided attention will require training, I need to glue myself to the ones that sound the best to me, which also have that timeless 19th century or earlier nostalgia, that lust for former times, when things were so basic, so down to earth, where beings and nature were closer to each other, and of learning to get used to characters, the inexpressible joy of slowly tying together all the strands of the story elements, of forgetting the humdrum where I actually dread looking for stuff I have to look for which I have a good reason to think that they won't be found, ack!! What horrid matters to fill your mind with.
So there must be entertainment but they all must be fine, and preferably of a classic removed time period.
And I must speak with a tremor in my heart about the things I profess to admire and aestheticize, I see in my manner a too hearty affiliation with the superficial, the external to the senses details. The heart and innards of the matters of it all shall only be appreciated thoroughly by taking it all in without intrusionary meddling with what will be an uncomprehending mind until a ceremonial and prolonged time of swimming in the waters and becoming more and more like a merman. (I had to fit in a Zoolander thing, I found that movie quite funny, especially the gas station fight with that Wham song playing, and the slow motion!!)
