How Can I Find A Melody For Lyrics ?

I've been trying to write songs for about 2 years now. Thus far I've only like 3 songs I've ever written that are actually songs ( meaning that they have lyrics and a melody to accompany it ). Musically I can only play the classical guitar so that doesn't exactly help too much, I can play chords and strum to songs but I find that by doing so all my songs sound kinda country ( ? )

Recently I picked up a Midi controller to experiment with new sounds and it's been about a week and I still can't come up with anything that sounds good, when writing songs I find that lyrics seem to pour out of me but after so long I have like 2 books worth of lyrics but with only 3 having melodies.

I tend to want to always use the same chords because I happen to really like them but it's starting to make each song I try to make sound the same. I understand that everybody has their own styles of song writing but I would really like to be able to write something that doesn't all sound the same.

I would love to get some tips on how to find a tune and maybe even help on finding new chords so I can finally get on with making something new.

Btw, I tend to love using chords like Am, C, Em, Fmaj7.

Maybe start with the music and see what lyrics it inspires. Find a nice groove and hook.
