[media=https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPn6iF028cP8]
My favorite music curated sequentially in a mysterious and magical way
1. Lucrecia Dalt opens with quietly entrancing sonic stuff going on 2. Simon Turner Fisher's Hymn for Thatcher is the sounds from the most emotional part in Jarman's The Last of England.
3. Bach's G String Air done wonderfully by The Swingle Singers and someone or group known as MJQ 4. Fullness of Wind -- the 1st of 3 Eno did for Pachelbel, and is my fave of them. 5. Pink Floyd lets the light in 6. Yann Tierson's Amelie music never fails to charm my socks off 7. Divine Head by Goldfrapp 8. Goblin's Suspiria 9. Santo and Johnny ...still Sleepwalking 10. John Williams' immortal Jaws theme, take and keep the movie yourself if I can just hear the theme, i's a happy boy 11. Steve Reich's Six Marimbas, music like this is a spa where you can rejuvenate. This whole playlist can be seen as my idea of SPA MUZIK 12. Sweet Loaf by The Butthole Surfers, one of a few songs that made me lol 13. The Monkees - I'm a Believer -- the way this sounds is very ear tickling 14. The Beatles - Come Together - this one has such a uniquely pleasing overall sound 15. My Bloody Valentine - When You Sleep - a special sound as always it sounds the way a high school romance would feel like in the 90s 16. Pachelbel through the voices of The Swingle Singers, and another video of better quality coming shortly.
17. Vashti Bunyan -- Just Another Diamond Day - many recent finds for me appear because they're so unimaginably great I forget what most of my faves were before hearing them. 18. Lucrecia Dalt returns as a Mirage 19. 20. Current 93 - Nature Unveiled - whole album, for a scary vibe, it's the spooky season after all 21. Coil - The Wheel - to me this is like a Buddhist Wheel message kind of song, the harsh reality of reincarnation as lower species for those who suck in their current life maybe? But it sounds cool!! The percussive prowess scratches an itch to say the least.
22. Yma Sumac gives us the best damn Gopher Mambo we're ever gonna get
23. Cibo Matto - Know Your Chicken, I love how this blends humor with that cool 90s aesthetic.
24. Cocteau Twins - Carolyn's Fingers -- my current #1 song of theirs after having the pleasure of Lorelei being at the top for awhile, I need to listen to their whole albums at some point but have just picked a selection that instantly have a permanent home in my ears.
25. Fever Ray - Keep the Streets Empty for Me - a lovely haunting melody kind of song
26. Psychic TV - Godstar -- clearly a Hit!! Someone mentioned a song of theirs that impressed them a lot on SW, I intend to look for it some time, but my way of approaching music isn't normal, even if most of my faves are all normal given the crazy kinds of stuff out there.
27. a musical moment from the Czech film Dita Saxova, how graceful it all is causeth me to swooneth.
28. Pachelbel's Canon as done to perfection by The Swingle Singers
29. J.G. Thirlwell - Mississippi Noir, love how this progresses too short imo
30. Natural Snow Buildings - Carved Heart - this is the newest find, found a bit before starting this Playlist, which may be renamed Spa Muse mmmm, because i've not allowed any ick in here.
31. Handel: Organ Concerto in D Minor, Op. 7 No. 4, HWV 309: I. Adagio -- thanks to Fassbinder for using this a few times in his films, for me it's his leitmotif, tragic in a grand way.
32. Scott Walker - Farmer In The City - Scott's a unique music maker from this album onwards in his career.
33. Exuma, The Obeah Man -- this is some funky stuff!!
34. Deodato - Also Sprach Zarathustra -- giving Richard Strauss a bit of a dance twist is like discovering the bar at the Muse-mmm -- that's the name of this as of 2:01am Oct 11, and I may be finished it before the afternoon, then i'll order some food b4 sleep.
35. June Christy - Bewitched -- this was in a Godard film, and ever since hearing this there i've been terribly fond of it. Film expanded my musical tastes in some ways I hope to further document here.
36. Gianni Marchetti - Chierichetti e diavoletti -- and yes I copied and pasted that,oh this is so groovy with a dash of frightening.
37. Ween - I'm Dancing in the Show Tonight - it is no cartoon that is any reason why I like this, Ween is just one of the greatest novelty song acts ever, who made incredible music, however I cannot equally embrace everything they do, making listening to a whole album a rarity.
38. I'll Be Your Johnny On the Spot, Ween can rock out pretty good too.
39. Weezer - Beverly Hills - (((sigh))) those were simpler times eh?
40. KMFDM's Light is the catchiest Industrial song i've come across so far
41. Goldfrapp returns with Number 1
42. Guido & Maurizio De Angelis - Università (from Sergio Martino's "Torso" 1973) - Torso is one of the great Giallo films, this music here is sweet sounding, visuals in the video is a tad gruesome, but that's the film, the scene in the film when this music plays we see these funky hippies having a good time (briefly that is)
43. Roberta Flack - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - you've heard some great stuff, but Roberta just broke the mould, will there be anything better than this? Stay tuned!!
44. A Bjork medley - Human Behavior 45. Isobel 46. Bachelorette 47. Unravel 48. The Anchor Song
49. Bernard Parmegiani - Pop'eclectic (1969) - he was a master of what he was doing, but it may be challenging to get into, this I think anyone can find neato!!
50. La morte cammina con i tacchi alti by Stelvio Cipriani is my #1 Giallo theme, so zippy and optimistic in an appropriate way.
51. Josephine Foster - Force Divine - my #1 from her 52. Neil Young - Cinnamon Girl
53. Mihaly Vig does the tunes for Bela Tarr's films, Damnation is tops for me, it has pound for pound the best music in all his films for one thing. 54. the beginning of Terry Zwigoff's Ghost World is an inspired thing, using a catchy Bollywood number from the 60s. 55. Daphne Oram's proto surf masterpiece Snow 56. Cocteau Twins come back with Pandora (For Cindy) 57. The Monkey Chant from Baraka 58. Kraftwerk - Radioactivity - an all-timer 59. The Doors - Strange Days 60. Natalie Merchant's Carnival is a keeper even though it was Aileen Wuornos's favorite song, she suffered that's one thing. This song is a freakin' masterpiece of adult contemporary, if there's more of that it'll be a medley from Sarah MacLachlan's Surfacing album. 61. Chairlift - Amanaemonesia -- there's been times where I just watch this on a loop for hours!!
62. 63. a couple more of what The Swingle Singers did best, enhance Bach with a smooth lounge-like jazzy flavor. 64. Arvo Part - Festina Lente - one of the best of his short stuff.
65. My Bloody Valentine says Soon before scurrying off again .... I saw on YT a video about them, might check it out soon, appears to be that they were only able to make that one legendary album with the guitar in the garish red color scheme.
66. Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake shall here usher a little more emphasis on classical and music that is appropriate to read while its playing.
(Much more to edit in over the course of up to a month, the total amount shall be 200, for that is how many can be played from a SW page, and it is highly likely some videos won't play even for me who made the list and for those in other parts of the globe, which is why i'm taking the pains to write out the contents, well I am a little lazy in not being too clear for some things because it would make me write words not in English which doesn't feel natural, all about being natural over here haha)
Lots of music is kept out because I cannot separate the good tracks from their whole albums.
