Do you also feel similar hearing this song?

So this post will again be about Linkin Park. Couple of months ago I posted about their song In The End and how it personally reminds me of youth rebelling against their parents especially in the Indian context but in this post I will share how the song What I've Done by Linkin Park makes me feel. This is another song I used to hear a lot during my 9th and 10th grade when I was being bullied. So yeah the first thing this song reminds me of the helplessness i felt during school especially by my main bully Arjun. He not only used to hit me or threaten me but regular insult me and forcefully make me do embarrassing tasks in front of others in class like do bellydance or act like a dog or stuff this food in mouth or to slap myself. If I ever dared to fight back, he would get aggressive so I used to comply about whatever he made me do as I had no friends and other boys in class often sided with Arjun, joined in and laughed. So yeah when in the song Chester sang in the chorus "to cross out what I've becoooooomeeee" loudly, it mirrored the helplessness i felt with Arjun as if I didn't comply I faced threat of aggression or exclusion from group activities. So yeah this helplessness and feeling trapped is what the song reminds me of.

But recently there is this another thing too which reminds me of this song and that is my mom often scolding me for being on my phone all the time. Yeah even at 25 I still live with parents as I live in Bangalore in India and it's normal enough in India for plenty of people in their 20s to live with parents. But yeah as I have recently completed MBA and job searching, my mom often scolds me about it but yeah I also have Myopia since 6th grade so she scolds me about too much screentime on my phone. She often keeps saying in Bengali scolding that how i often am stuck on the mobile. I have been associating this song with this for the past 3 years since I was 22 as she kept scolding me about my screentime and phone usage and that makes me feel as if I am still a 14-15 year old teenager and not an adult. That annoys me so much and I tend to feel Chester's powerful voice in the chorus mirrors that frustration I feel too about the constant scolding about my phone usage. Do you have similar memories with this song too?
