My #3 bleak film is Dancer in the Dark

When I first saw it it was #1. Bjork talks to a friendly guy in it, who's name is my name Jeff!! That was always special sounding, for I idolize that woman, and grew to loathe the director for putting her through hell.

It's a musical, but the songs are spaced out a little too much, the searing drama takes centre stage.

It involves a plot device that I absolutely hate in movies and annoys me 9 out of 10 times to leave them unfinished, when a bad character manipulates someone and creates false rumors about them. That is what that sicko cop character does, who had a tv show for a bit. I hate his character in Dancer in the Dark so much, I wanna reach into the movie and KILL him!!

I love the song parts, the best imo is in the court, divided into 2 parts.

And the closing song is very moving.

The irony involved in the lyrics screams out injustice, and it hurts, but it's effective in driving in it's point on the terrible ironies life has too much of. Unfair!! "Always there to catch me?" Nope, not with Lars my sweet Icelandic Queen.

This was the first music moment, and yeah it's great, at this point you don't quite know how far down Selma's path is going to take .... there's subtle hints of the tragedy that will be increasing

I don't like much the train song

and the final song just perfection, it's like Bjork the mighty recording genius is summing up the experience and making it mean something beautiful, but there was no beauty in Lars' intention not one speck!!

Bjork's last songs on her albums can be the best on the whole album, and Unison from Vespertine is just such a song too, her quirky nature is the cutest!!

Not for everyone - people get her - or don't...I enjoy her and her music.

@bookerdana They used older tech I think far from a deep fake at least!! The vocalists are amazing from Medulla most just voices making all those sounds. Innovative sound making.

@Adroneandastrain As a song it started out strong than petered out just as fast oh well

@bookerdana That's the music video, the album version is more fully like a song without dramaturgy mixed in.
