Def Leppard - Sheffield Arena - 30th June
Yes, we made the sabbatical. Yes, it's my old hometown...and, yes, it always makes me emotional.
I've always enjoyed seeing bands in their own 'backyard', their own home towns. The Leps, I think I've seen them the most.
Yup, dragged Kaz and Hope along - not much dragging of Hope as she gets it - and we had a great old time.
Before the show, the boys were celebrating their 11th time playing what is to me, and always will be, Sheffield Arena....and on the concourse, we had this
beautiful Leppard, with the Andi AirFix /Sartori artwork...signed.....if only I could nick it! Lol!
Support comes from Extreme, who were bloody brilliant! Great set. Everyone was singing along and enjoying them.
Seen them many times before. A great band.
Leps came out and I'm back to the 80's! A mixed collection of old...classic...and new...and Nuno guesting on the track 'Slang'.
I've been at the Arena before and there's been sound problems for the boys...and we had that this time too. sadly? Unsadly? On the encore,
'Hysteria', the sound cut out....which meant that it was crowd singing time.
I cried.
A beautiful moment.
Great show. Long drive home, but worth it.
