I wish everyone displayed their age. You tend to interpret some things a little differently if you were there in the moment. I'm sure a young guy wouldn't see it the same as we might.

Do you like Hendrix primarily for his singing? What about his songwriting? Listening to other musicians cover a Hendrix original is often a highlight.
I know a number of great guitarists that, at best adequate vocals. Being good at both is not a requirement. Hendrix was a blues musician at his roots, for that genre he was better than average singer.

Turn back the clock. There’s no one i’d rather have seen in a small club setting.
Think about it. His music is still popular and it’s roughly 60 years old. It’s the combo of the voice and guitar that makes it special. Neither works independently.
