Every time I see the Wegovy commercial

I think about the interview I read where the song writer, Keala Settle, said she wanted it to be an anthem for the outsiders and people who are ostracized by society simply because they exist.

I'm not sure being the song for a weight loss drug is exactly what she had hoped for.

Also, if you don't know who Keala Settle is, please take time to research her. She is an absolutely amazing person who deserves everything positive she has received!

I have type two diabetes and take Ozempic.

Ozempic is semaglutide, and was developed to treat diabetes. It mimics a hormone we produce naturally after eating, which increases insulin production and decreases sugar production by the liver.

It also slows down stomach emptying which reduces appetite because you feel full longer. So they studied it for weight loss, upped the dose, and gave it a new name, Wegovy, for that purpose. But it is the same drug as Ozempic.

My blood sugar is down and Ozempic is likely a key factor, although I also cut out added sugar, desserts, and soda, and use sucralose (Splenda) in my drinks now.

But I've been gaining weight! Still, it does take longer, it seems, for my stomach to empty, and I almost never feel hungry.
