"I Can See Clearly Now” – Jimmy Cliff

Remembering reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, who passed away at 81 on November 24th.

Cliff was instrumental in bringing the music of his native Jamaica to a global audience. He was nominated for seven Grammy Awards (winning 2 times) and was one of only two Jamaicans to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The reggae musician was also awarded the Order of Merit, which is the highest honor granted by the government of Jamaica for accomplishments in the arts and sciences.

I know he wrote and recorded many great songs, yet it is this one that I most associate with him and have heard the most. It is one I always turn up when it comes on my car radio, and sometimes think to listen when I need a hopeful...happy song.

@YoMomma I'm not surprised. Johnny Nash's original version was a big hit, as was Jimmy Cliff's cover of the song.
