Marilyn Manson Part 2

Part 2 of the Marylin Manson story. We left off in 1998 with him going on tour with his album Anti Christ Superstar. I live in the bible belt so there were a lot of coverage around here where protesters where outside the collision trying to stop people from entering and canceling the show. Manson was loving the attention. As they say free promotion good or bad is still free promotion. All those people were doing was making him more and more popular.

Now let's go forward to 1999. April 20 to be exact. Do you remember what was going on in all the news channels? Colombian High School shooting. While everything started to unwind and the shooters that pulled their gun on themselves were identified. The media had to find a bad guy to blame such a horrible crime on. So you want to take a wild guess who they blamed? Marilyn Manson was the blame of course. Saying that the shooters were wearing Manson T shirts and were big fans of his music. Manson cancelled the rest of his concerts that were finishing up and went into hiding.

He laid low for almost a year. Come to find out all that the press said about the shooters was a bald face lie. They weren't wearing a Manson T shirt, they weren't even a fan of his music. Now that mad Manson a little pissed off. The next album was called Holy wood. And he let the media have it with both barrels.
