I would say the individual musical skills and creativity of Tool is second

@AthrillatheHunt I graduated HS in '86 so I can relate.
I can say with certainty, I saw Van Halen with DLR twice and once with Sammy.
I saw DLR on his first solo tour with Cinderella opening.
I saw Sammy's "I Can't Drive 55" tour and my final conclusion....
Solo Sammy was the best concert of them all, IMO.
BTW, Krokus opened for Sammy
Van Halen was with Kingdom Come, Scorpions, Metallica and Dokken

@Peek4U a good friend grew up in upstate NY (Casanovia) w Sammy Hagars oldest son.

@AthrillatheHunt Sammy is old as hell but still has impressive pipes.
DLR on the other hand...Ugh
People underestimate Sammy's guitar skills and many are unaware of his Montrose and Chickenfoot stuff.
He played a lot of his pre-VH stuff in that concert that I loved before the "55" album.
His "Standing Hampton" album is awesome.
Did you know that he wrote
"I've done everything for you" a huge hit for Rick Springfield?

@Peek4U me and a buddy got kicked out of Cabo wabo in 1996/ 97 for doing blow at the bar. Wild story. Got shook down too by security .
