Kix was an amazing band from where I grew up that should have been way bigger than they became. Steve Whiteman was an amazing vocalist and their live shows were more energetic than most. Listen and climb down their rabbit hole, you won't be disappointed!

Buddy. Love this post. These dudes are in my top 3 bands of this era. Nobody sounded like them. Midnight Dynamite is a perfect record and should have made them massive.

Cool story about Steve. In 86 I went to see them in Boston and I was the only one in our group that was under 21. I got caught drinking a beer and got kicked out during the opening band. This was the first time I was going to get to see them and I was DEJECTED. So I’m hands in pockets head down kicking rocks in the alley walking back to the car to wait for my friends after the show.

All of a sudden a door opens and out pops Steve Whitmans head. He looks at me and I’m shocked just standing there and he says are you ok kid?

I tell him the story and he starts laughing and puts his arm around my shoulder and says cmon cmon and walks me inside back stage.

Bro. He hands me a beer and I’m hanging with the band. He comes back with a ballcap and a different shirt and I kick it with them until they go on. They put me in the front row.

@DrawntoaDistance Awesome story. I loved them and only wish they could have kept their personal shit within the band in check better. Thats the only thing that limited their success
