I like
You know what I don't see anymore. Drum battles, band battles and stuff to really promote bands anymore. Must be a dead thing.
Like for example
Neil Peart vs. Mike Portnoy
During various Rush and Dream Theater performances, Neil Peart and Mike Portnoy showcased their drumming prowess, often trading solos that highlighted their unique styles and technical abilities.
Buddy Rich vs. Gene Krupa
This legendary showdown between two of jazz's greatest drummers took place numerous times. Their drum battles showcased incredible speed, technique, and showmanship, captivating audiences.
Jimi Hendrix vs. Eric Clapton
At the famous Fillmore, both legends had moments where they exchanged solos and riffs, demonstrating the heights of guitar virtuosity.
Slash vs. Joe Perry
These two rock icons have had multiple live collaborations where they exchanged leads, demonstrating their skills in an impromptu fashion that thrilled fans.
Freddie Mercury vs. Adam Lambert
At Queen + Adam Lambert performances, Lambert often engages in friendly vocal showdowns with the band's iconic songs, showcasing his vocal range alongside the legendary legacy of Mercury.
Whitney Houston vs. Mariah Carey
Though not a formal battle, when these two powerhouse vocalists performed together, their renditions became a vocal competition, leaving fans in awe of both their talents.
Foo Fighters vs. The Muppets
During a memorable live performance, the Foo Fighters went head-to-head in a hilarious and entertaining segment with the Muppets, balancing humor with musicianship in a playful battle.
The Roots vs. Fall Out Boy
In a fun on-stage appearance, The Roots faced off against Fall Out Boy in a spirited comedy and music mash-up, showcasing each band’s strengths.
Then you have Metallica vs Huey Lewis and the News. Now that was great to see.
They did a mashup titled "Hip to Be the Sandman", combining Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Huey Lewis and the News' "Hip to Be Square," has captured the attention of fans. This creative blend pairs James Hetfield's heavy vocals with the upbeat instrumentation of Huey Lewis's classic hit.
