“Happy Together” – The Turtles

[media=https://youtu.be/sq3awlDqAVo]
Remembering vocalist, songwriter, musician, and college professor Mark Volman, who died on Sept. 5 at age 78.

Volman was best known as a founding member of the ‘60s rock band, the Turtles. He also performed with Frank Zappa’s band, the Mothers of Invention, and the rock duo, Flo & Eddie.

We also lost drummer John Barbata in 2024. This is a terrific performance and I love playing all the little flourishes he put on, like the bass drum 16th notes after the first verse and the bell of the ride cymbal at the end.
Seems simple. But not.

@uncalled4 Yes. Barbata performed with a number of bands, including the Turtles. He was a first-rate musician.
