Tbh I could be recording guitar tracks right now but I'm too intimidated by the idea.

I'd have to come up with something and make sure my recording stuff is working right and put my fingers in the right place and play on time and cramp my hands and I don't wanna do it but I know how to do it so I can't not do it. 🫩

When I dabbled in home recording, I always started with recording a drum track and then would just jam to that on guitar. Even if you don’t get anything recorded, you might work your way through the cramps and come up with a nugget of a song idea when you do feel ready.

@BamPow tbh electric guitar is new to me and I'd need way more practice to improvise in real time. At the moment I do better with deliberation and planning.

@SinlessOnslaught I learned how to play guitar just by playing along to a percussion sequence on a basic keyboard. If you’re just getting started, there’s going to be sore fingers and cramps until you build up the calluses. Unfortunately, pain is part of the game at first.

@BamPow I mean I have experience with music in general including acoustic guitar. Just not much electric.

@SinlessOnslaught If you can play acoustic, electric will click for you. An electric guitar is more forgiving than an acoustic if you’re using distortion. A mistake on an acoustic just stands out more, in my experience.
