Stevie Wonder ~ I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)

Even though it’s not one of his best known songs, this is my favorite song he ever wrote. His sheer hopefulness and optimism combined with that pang to be loved is set against an incredibly lush and lilting arrangement. This is as close to perfection as any record I’ve listened to.

He’s written some incredibly beautiful songs, but this is indeed at the top. He wrote it with Yvonne Wright when he was 22.
