Why does every Beatles song have the songwriter credited as “Lennon-McCartney”?

Literally every song has the song has the songwriter credited as “Lennon-McCartney”…why?

Did they actually write every song together?

That was the agreement made between John and Paul, regardless of who actually wrote the song(s).

I’m still kinda young, so I’m new to the Beatles. But I am wondering if Brian Epstein has something to do with that agreement?

@XenonRush Brian had very little to do with that arrangement. That was between John, Paul, and the publisher Dick James Music.

Brian Epstein’s original contracts with be Beatles actually gave him 30% of thier earnings! @onrealityofdreams
@XenonRush That was typical of Brian's managerial style.
