@Ferise1 The song was written by Dexter Holland after a trip through the old neighbourhood and being hit by how alot of the other people who grew up in the neighborhood didn't end up in a good way and some ended in downright tragedy. As a kid or a teen you think you will beat the odds or in many cases are not even aware of the harsh realities of life.
As an adult you get slapped in the face by reality and sometimes intentions or working hard doesn't matter when it comes to your outcomes and sometimes the difference between being a rock star with a PHD (Dexter Holland) and homeless under a bridge is dumb luck.
