“All of Me” – Billie Holiday

[media=https://youtu.be/ZEd1GkeNMiM]
Billie Holiday’s 1941 recording of the jazz standard, “All of Me”.

The song was written by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons in 1931 and has been covered by numerous artists over the years. Of the many excellent versions, Billie Holiday’s poignant interpretation is sometimes considered the definitive one. Writer and music historian Ted Gioia expressed this view, saying the singer “staked a claim of ownership that no one has managed to dislodge in subsequent years."
