Rest in Peace Sly Stone

Sadly, Sly Stone passed away at 82. I was a fan of Sly and the Family Stone. Who could forget their amazing performance at Woodstock. He’ll be missed.

I saw Him and the Family at Laurel Park in 1969 along with Tens Years After, The Guess Who, Frank Zappa and several others. I feel fortune to have been growing up during the years of the greatest music ever produced. Our history and it's locations are fading every year.
I had to look up the current name of Horse race track because it has changed names several times. Thousands of events of all kinds have been held there since it's opening in 1911. In doing so I learned in 2026 the park will host the Preakness race then permanently close at the end of the year.
So I'm saying good-bye to Sly and a place he played as well.

Listening to Sly and The Family Stone right now. What a talent he had for blurring the lines of different musical styles at the time.
