Have you ever loved a genre of music so intensely, that it seemed it was created just for you?

In 1999 I was 19 and feeling left cold and very bored by the general offering of pop and dance music.

Then my girlfriend at the time put on a Korn album and opened a bottle vodka, and three days later I was a nu-metal fan.

Korn
Slipknot
Limp bizkit
Linkin Park
Drowning pool
System of A Down
Papa Roach
Rammstein
Coal chamber
Static-X
Fear Factory
Rob Zombie
Marilyn Manson
Godsmack
Alter Bridge
Shinedown

Jumping around with a beer became even more fun.

yep but for me it is bebop, bossa nova, mid-century «space age bachelor pad» (lounge / exotica / easy listening / et al.), Afrobeat, dub, ska, post-punk, inide, shoegaze, trip hop, downtempo, IDM, post-rock, minimalism, new wave, funk and others ... not really a fan of nu metal, post-grunge, and my interest in grunge mostly faded while my interest in the shoegaze of the same era has remained constant
