It's really not complex at all. Harmonically speaking i guess the verse going from the root to the 3rd minor to the 2nd minor to the 5 is a little... different? Just because it isnt the most common progression out there but it's definitely not unusual.
I thought it was funny how they used that synthetic line from a Rush song (Tom Sawyer i think?)

@GhostNuclear lots of stops / starts but not a whole lot of changes. Like, I never heard this one but I could predict where it was going the whole time. The synth gets a little meander-y and that makes it sound more complicated than it really is.
