The 6 'Not What You'd Expect From Me' Album List.

..also known as the 'OMG! Sammy Jo! You bought these records?!?' List.

..and, yeah, I did! I love them. Guilty pleasure? Maybe. Secret? Not any more!

In no particular order...

Deep Purple - "Concerto For Group And Orchestra" (1969)

The marriage between hard rock and classical music pretty much begins here for me. 3 movements. Famously, the orchestra wasn't happy playing this 'music' with a dirty rock 'n roll band, but the conductor, Malcolm Arnold, tore them a new one! For years, this album was something I played to get me into that nice relaxed place to fall asleep.

Enya - "Shepherd Moons" (1991)

I'm a sucker for beautiful voices and crafted productions...alongside some exquisite song-writing, some in English...some in Irish. Just wonderful.

There's 'Caribbean Blue', 'How Can I keep From Singing?', 'Ebudae' 'Book Of Days' and many, many highlights.

ABC - "The Lexicon Of Love" (1982)

I bought it on CD, originally, for my partner - now wife - as she only had it on vinyl, many years ago now, but...bloody hell...it's a great collection of stylish pop songs. Their debut, I believe, and never bettered. Great singles - 'Tears Are Not Enough', 'Poison Arrow', 'The Look Of Love Pt. 1', 'All Of My Heart' - and just flows... One of our mutual loves.

Debbie Gibson - "Out Of The Blue" (1987)

Just wonderful teen pop. Great song-writing and vocals. Great bunch of singles.

Carly Rae Jepsen - "E-Mo-Tion" (2015)

...and the modern equivalent. Ms Swift? I can take or leave, but I much prefer Carly when she writes her stuff.

Daft Punk - "Discovery" (2001)

Electronic music? Like some, dislike a lot...but there was something about Daft Punk that I enjoyed.

So...there you have it. My 6 fav, off-the-beaten-track, albums that you'd not expect from this lil Rock Chick here to enjoy...but has a soft spot for.

What's yours...if you don't mind sharing ?

@NativePortlander1970 Lovely! Actually, I should have also put John Coltrane and "My Favourite Things" (1960) on there too...but I forgot! Lol!

I'm self-pigeon-holed as a rock lover...and that is my first love...but nice to find other musics that connect with you, for whatever reason, right?

@SammyJo Coltrane's good too, don't think I know that one song, I listen to a wide diversity of music genres, even though I'm not a fan of modern country, I do like that one :) Those songs are lovely indeed, it's always good to listen to new things :)
@SammyJo Here's another song that touches me to my core...[media=https://youtu.be/-K8HEAcDewA]
