@NativePortlander1970 Sorry Ive corrected it. The problem is I like to type fast and get all my thoughts down so I tyoe with two hands but that is a disaster for someone like me who is dyslexic. I think Ive typed things in the right order but I haven't. When i look back I am sometimes astounded by how out of order I get things. On top of that, auto correct cna completely cover my digital footprint by guessing what Ive written completely different to what I intended. Fixed now though.
@Captain I don't see any edit, I meant for you to clarify about you thinking Ziggy was more honest and open...

@NativePortlander1970 By more honest and open its well known he chose different characters for his different LPs - different personna. I think Ziggy Stardust is a confused character who doesnt know what he wants to be and is deeply unhappy with himself and has friction with his band, and i imagine that at that time that was probaby all true, I think Ziggy was a reflection of him, where Major Tom was the zeitgeist. I think Alladin Sane wasn't such an honest portrayal - more of a mask even - and from then on he was exploring different fanatsies, stepping back to be his own previous heroes, back to the spaceman theme etc etc. I think Ziggy was partly autobiographical about himself and for me that makes it more interesting. The rest seemed to be if anything about fashion (one of the later song titles of course) and he almost seemed ot be a style journalist or zeigeist commentator. I'd be interested on your thoughts on that. I coiuld never quiet understand him. Compare him to Queen, they defintiely just took a theme and went with it, whatever was in Freddies head at the time. They were theatre - Bowie was, well fashion really to me anyway. JMHO.
