During the years I started listening to talk radio because the new sounds just generated migraine headaches.
@Gibbon I was an angst ridden youth...this got me through some tough times

@pripyatamusementpark Oh I get it. But it was an angry sound as well as lyrics and growing up in the 60s and early 70s it wasn't anything I cared to hear.
@Gibbon to each their own ...you don't have to listen to it

@pripyatamusementpark Agreed. But I have a question of interest regarding not all but some heavy metal. When the vocals are screaming and unintelligible what are they other than noise that needs to be looked up to see the lyrics and if they have a worthwhile meaning. I'm not looking for an argument I'm trying to understand the appeal. They really aren't doing anything new with the music other than making it unnecessarily obnoxious but really what's the appeal of unintelligible lyrics? Jim Morrison could scream and still be understood.
@Gibbon I suppose it depends on the person and how it speaks to them . It's not always the lyrics it could be the music itself that speaks to how they are feeling and how it relates to that specific person.

@pripyatamusementpark This I can relate to because I'm more into the music than lyrics. That is my major complaint about today's, if you want to call it top 40, music. Everything has become bumper to bumper lyrics and the musicians are an after thought. All the songs fast or slow all sound the same. The originality is gone. There's very little uniqueness from one band to another.
@Gibbon I do agree with you on this
