Do you like Peter Cetera and Chicago?

I do, so did an instrumental cover of You're The Inspiration. As usual it was all played live by me via a midi controller. Except drums which I programmed.

I loved Chicago from day 1. And while I liked Terry Kath and was sad when he passed, I also liked Peter Cetera’s voice and style. I listened to them when they were new (remember " Chicago Transit Authority" ?)
The band represented some poignant memories in my life.

@bijouxbroussard I know about Chicago starting out with a few different names but have never heard their music from this period.

My least favorite period of Chicago. No 25 or 6 to 4. No Saturday In The Park. Not even Colour My World.

David Foster started out doing great work with prog rock and R&B, then turned into this wimp rock guy. Even when he did something cool like produce The Tubes, he just replaced everyone in the band with Toto.

He makes product, like if McDonald's could churn out ballads from pink slime.

That said, what you did isn't easy, and apart from the drum track being a little loud on the entrance, it's pretty good.

@uncalled4 thanks. Yeah I've read about David Foster changing things and not being better for it. I just hope my representation of this song was ok though.

@VirginMatchmaker I thought it was pretty good!

He was mostly into all this sugar-coated lovey dovey pop junk. 🤮 "If you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me.. Oooh don't baby, please don't go!" Stuff like "25-or-6-2-4" was good, though. Chicago was pretty much not the same after Terry Kath accidentally killed himself.

David Gates is from Bread. A soft music group from the 70s.

Did you like David Gates as well?
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@Vin53 I'm not sure who David Gates is. I like Chicago in terms of what I know. But I'm sure there's lots to explore. Especially with their changes in line up
