Some. My partner quite likes Opera so we have known to go to a few performances. Ying and yang. I take him to see Taylor, he takes me to La Traviata...and, yes, I am aware of the irony!

@SarahTheHooker What irony? Good music is good music, not reason not to appreciate many varieties of music.

@ChipmunkErnie That La Traviata is about a courtesan and I am who I am! Lol!
But, yes, good music is good music.

@SarahTheHooker ASh, I see, I was thinking you meant the differing types of music led to irony. ;)

I like some of the music from operas, but the form is somewhat lost on me because I cannot quite get that people are singing while involved in the most violent or intimate activities. Very strong singing voices are one of the few things that will make me turn off Radio 3.

Some of it, I do.
Like the Marriage of Figaro and the Barber of Seville, which I've been introduced to through some of the old Looney Tunes cartoons.

@Sidewinder I bet you're not the only one to be introduced to 'high culture' through popular forms. I recall seeing Disney's Fantasia back in the 60s which introduced me to classical music with plenty of 'sugar' 😂
