While staying at my parents house

My brother wakes me up pretty much ever night or morning at one point or another, often more than once, playing his guitar too loud. I'm fucking so over it. He has no courtesy or respect for anyone around him. So how can I break an amp without it being obvious?? Seriously this has gone on for three months now. We need relief. It's not hurting anyone, but he is, when he wakes my son up and my son can't finish his naps. Etc.

depends on what sort of amp it is, worse case, go and remove a few screws and cut a wire, replace screws. if you want it very covered, cut the wire, melt each cut end...poof, he'll think he blew something

It's really up to your parents to pull him into line, he's in their house. They can tell him which hours are acceptable and if he doesn't want to comply then he can go house hunting.

@BadAssTunaBotHoe lol I wish it was that simple.
@Notsimilarreally Come and live in my house in England. Granted I get up at 1am for breakfast but I don't have an electric guitar 👏

Get him a Guitar-Plug Headphone Amp. Plugs into your guitar, you wear your headphones, which plug into the amp, and only the player can hear!

😀

Can you set a schedule with him? I'm not sure how to deal with the amp. He'd probably get another one.
Flip the breaker before bed. You might also be without light till someone realizes what happened. And you can always blame it on his amp

Record it and play it back when he is asleep

Oh no, I am really sorry. Lovingdead has a good plan though. Do it because you both need your sleep.

How much longer will you be there?!

@iamonfire696 they're like children themselves sometimes. It's all just a toxic mess. I was supposed to stay with a friend here, but that fell through last minute really sadly.

I think I'll be out in under two weeks now though.

@Notsimilarreally I completely understand this dysfunction in a family. I am sorry you deal with it too. I am glad you’re going to be out in under 2 weeks now. I am happy for that 🩷.

@CountScrofula drugs and mental illness, honestly. He lacks empathy, big time. Which as sad as that is, is not an excuse to disrespect and torture everyone around you.
