“Walk Away Renée” – The Four Tops

In memory of Abdul “Duke” Fakir (1935 – 2024), the last surviving original member of the Soul/R&B quartet, the Four Tops.

Fakir performed with the group from 1953 until less than a month ago. He passed away on July 22 at the age of 88.

Such talented performers, with so many great songs as their legacy. I had the pleasure of seeing them live, back in the mid to late 80's. Like most other Motown artists I've seen live, they sounded just as good or better than their studio recordings.

@Piper Cool. All of the original members would still have been in the group when you saw them perform live. I'm sure the succeeding members are all very good, but there's nothing like seeing/hearing those who were with the group from the beginning. It really is a testament to their talent that they sounded as good (or better) in person as they did on their studio recordings.
