“Eight Miles High” (1966) – The Byrds

[media=https://youtu.be/3cNoMHyQw3k]
For this video, I edited and put together some clips of birds flying or taking flight and tried to match them with the feel and flow of the music. Hopefully, those who watch the video will find it at least marginally entertaining.

The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High” is an early psychedelic rock song and is considered a counterculture-era classic.

In 1999, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, which honors “musical recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance”; in 2004, Rolling Stone magazine included "Eight Miles High" on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time; and in 2005, the song was included on Q magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks Ever.

I enjoyed the video, and think the birds flying or standing alone fit perfectly...with the song.

@Lilymoon The music from that era was fantastic. I think there were some other things about that time that were pretty cool too.

Thank you so much! I spent a fair amount of time putting it together and it means a lot to me that you took the time to watch it.

@Rutterman Hey no probs your posts are always interesting and informative 😊
Great imagery! I love the bright jangly sound of McGuinn's Rickenbacker 12-string!!

@Azlotto You're very welcome.
Love the original, as well as this alternative 80s cover version ... your video also reminded me to confirm what kind of raptor with a forked tail I saw earlier in the week)

@BlueGreenGrey First time I've heard this version. It's very different from the original, but I like it. Thanks for sharing.

The album cover is interesting. It looks like whoever designed it was on the same wavelength as I was when I created my video.
