“Ventura Highway” – America

[media=https://youtu.be/bq1k95uHgcY]
“Ventura Highway” is an evocative song that continues to resonate with people more than 50 years after its release.

America band member and songwriter Dewey Bunnell has noted its timeless quality. In 2000, he stated, “I really believe that 'Ventura Highway' has the most lasting power of all my songs. It's not just the words — the song and the track have a certain fresh, vibrant, optimistic quality that I can still respond to."

The music video posted here contains a clip I edited from a longer video filmed along the coastal highway (SR 1) in California’s Big Sur region. My objective was to create a video that captures the spirit of the song and is fun to watch.

Very cool!
America is one of my favourite bands, and I’ve seen them in concert a couple of times, though much later in their careers so there were only two of the original three members by then.
I always appreciated their unique sound, and was pleasantly surprised to discover George Martin, the Beatles producer, also did some of their albums.

I drove the PCH1 from San Francisco to Los Angeles last summer, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good road trip. Though part of the road was closed to washouts/rock slides, so I had to take a two hour loop around in order to continue the journey.

How did you shoot your footage, with a car mounted GoPro?

Excellent post, thank you for sharing

@Ghostinthemachine Sorry if I gave the impression that I shot the footage for this. I didn't, but instead used a Creative Commons (re-use allowed) video posted on YouTube. I edited part of it for the music video I posted here.

Thank you, and you're welcome. Your comments are much appreciated.
