The song's got a pretty funny origin story. Seems like Dire Straits' frontman Mark Knopfler overheard two delivery guys talking while he was in an appliance store. The guys were moaning about their jobs and the musicians on TV, and Knopfler jotted down some of their choice quotes, using them in the song. Pretty sneaky! 😂
